Sheryl’s story

Sheryl Hockey is a qualified Holistic Herbalist with 20 years working, facilitating and teaching in the health industry. She has worked in her own clinical practice for 17 years and has guided many people to a more healthful life.

A year after completing her qualification as a Medical Herbalist, Sheryl found that there was something missing with her methods of supporting her clients. She found that focussing on a physical health alone, by offering tips for a more healing diet, increased movement, deep rest and optimum hydration she felt like it was missing the mark for many on some level.

Sheryl decided to explore further and dove deep into the emotional habits and patterns that prevented her clients from achieving the level of health that they were seeking. She found that by asking deeper questions about relationships, connections with friends and family and how they felt about themselves started to open up very different conversations with her clients, and herself.

She began to search for other ways to uncover and heal emotional and mental beliefs and had a deep realisation that each person was on a varied and individual journey. From then on, she decided to drop all set programs and treatments for her clients. She felt more deeply connected to each client on their individual journey, and therefore no set protocol could offer the same healing potential as an individualised approach.

As the years past, Sheryl continued to explore different healing modalities, ever expanding on ways to best support her clients. She continued to develop her own practice, as well as expand her experience in a variety of other positions. She worked closely with her community in 2 local health food stores, and spent 4 years as a Head Clinic Supervisor at Newcastle’s Academy of Complementary Health. In this role, Sheryl developed and delivered course content, as well as supporting final year Naturopathy Students to complete their face-to-face clinic hours in the Academy’s student clinic. In the final year of this role, Sheryl also began to study a Bachelor of Medicines Management in Complementary Health at the University of Tasmania. What a beautiful experience to be a teacher and a student at the same time, and this learning vortex was an potent learning experience which continued to shape the practitioner she wanted to be.

Then, in 2020, with a huge shift in focus and life, Sheryl became more aligned with her spiritual practice than ever before. With the grace of time, Sheryl dove even deeper into her learning path by studying a multitude of modalities and healing practises including: Astrology, Reiki Master Teacher, Soul Communication, Lomi Lomi Massage, Pranic Healing, Mastery University with Tony Robbins, Tao Healing Hands Practitioner, and is currently studying to be a Kuan Yin lineage holder with Master Sha’s Tao Academy. During this process, she has deeply transformed her own limiting beliefs and old stories to be more in aligned with the life that she wants to create, and in turn, the ripples flow outward to her family, friends and clients.

Her passion now is to combine all that she has learnt, taught and experienced to help guide each soul towards deep and lasting healing by transforming their beliefs, stories and meanings to align with their soul’s purpose. Her role as a facilitator, guide and mentor is to fulfill her own life’s purpose to help heal and serve all sentient beings.
